| Spinning, how the......? Evening folks, this season it has been decided that i WILL be doing 360s (and upwards). however, i really do suck at freestyle stuff at the moment.
So does anyone have any tips at all for learning to spin? Heading to a good kicker on wednesday so any tips that dont put me in hospital will be much appreciated!
Cheers, Mark

| I too am going to attempt to add 180 degrees to my nearly disfunctional 180. I say the first one to land it (with a witness) buys a round for everyone. Kind of like getting a hole in one. |

| Snow?? no no no dont be silly, we'll be lucky if we get one good snow day this season!
Its a snowflex (dryslope) kicker. Nicely made and the landing is sprung so that it can give way a bit when things go pear shaped on landing/falling.
I'll try n get a photo so you can see what i mean

It's kind of like finding someone who just won the lottery and while in his fervor, you say "Hey, why don't you give me $1000?". He may just do it! |

| Ok, I'm a boarder, but the technique is the same. Before you leave the lip, pre-wind your upper body for the spin. If spinning counter-clockwise, turn your upperbody clockwise and vice-versa. Begin your rotation slightly before or just as you leave the lip. You want to lead your spin with your chin, looking over your shoulder in the direction you are rotating. Make sure to keep your shoulders level to start off (don't cork it until you are really comfortable with spins allready). Make sure to keep your arms in, moving your arms out slows down your rotation. Keep your weight centered over your board/skis. Grabs can help make sure you keep good body positioning. You want to spot your landing as you come out of your rotation, keep your eyes on the landing then STOMP into it. Visualize your moves before you jump, and keep your movements smooth. |
