I'm in the position where I can get a killer deal on Giro gear...well, I'm looking at the Fuse helmet and their top of the line goggles, Root.

Anyhow, does anyone have any experience with their goggles? Are they any good compared to Smith? And what about the Fuse helmet, should I step-up a few more bucks and get the Omen, or go down and get the G10?

P.S. I'm stuck inbatween sizes for a medium and large, should I just get the large and adjust it down so I can fit a beanie too?

Get the large size and use the extra padding it comes with, or grow out your hair. Make sure it still fits they are supposed to be snug.

I have Giro Fuse helmet and have been using it for a few years. The one thing I didn't like was the goggle strap, it was a plastic loop that easily broke. I'm not sure if they fixed it but it definitely sucks not having that security.

I like the ability to open vents on the fly; it's a nice feature.

I can't comment on Giro goggles, been a Smith and Scott man my whole life.

I agree and get the larger size. A beanie will help fill that in or you can get the pads to fill in gaps. A helmet even slightly too small will give you headaches (I know).

Yeah I'm looking at a new helmet in the first place because my medium giro, that is practically brand new, gives me headaches like crazy...so I'd never wear it (just put it in my backpack and forget it). But since I got new "true" twin tips for christmas, I'm hitting drops and double D's with my buddies and my mom wants me to wear a helmet.

I have Scott goggles, but they dont fit in a helmet, so I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone and order giro goggles with my helmet...although, I may end up using my smith deal to get a few of those and some lenses.

I love my G10, best 50 bucks I've spent on a helmet. It's super light, and fits great. Nice and warm, and super comfy. It doesn't have that ski racer look, which I didn't want. Im sure you will be happy with any of them. I have no opinion on the goggles.

Ok well i ordered a large fuse and the top of the line goggles.
