how do you get money for ski trips?

How do you or your family get the funds for a great ski trip? As for myself, I have a savings account set up for it and my kids do little fundraisers. Their antics don't make much but it does add up. So, what do you do?

Just pay for it. It's not that expensive when you live near the resorts.

Oh - the cheap season passes don't hurt either.

Pay for it by budgeting for the winter. I try to buy season passes at a few of my favorite resorts. Otherwise there are places with student discounts and I try to bring my own food and drinks.

It's part of our budget, our season passes. But we don't have to travel somewhere to hit the slopes right now... when we move it will be a different story, we haven't tackled that one yet!

Well considering I'm fairly new to all this, I set up a small savings account on the side. I'm hoping to surprise my honey with a trip later on, so this way, I have a set amount I'm slipping to the side that he doesn't know about and it's preventing me from just randomly spending the money. Out of sight, out of mind tends to work best for me.

I do the same as I would with any other kind of trip or vacation, I save up for the occasion.

Although I don't have a specific bank account set aside for trips, I am still really good with managing my money for things like this.

Just try to think up some plans in advance, since that makes setting aside the money so much easier to do!

We normally do our best to win as many radio giveaways for passes or lift tickets as we can. My nieces normally do some reading program for lift tickets or tubing. One year we were those obnoxious skiing/boarding photographers. Its definitely easier living within a quick drive though.
