Is your resort open??

Is your resort open? Mammoth mountain is open, but a little too far, my local mountain: mt high. is going to open this weekend or next week. How are your places going?

Don't be sad Shtles, I don't own a resort either. But, out of the 5 that are within a 2 hour drive (and owned by other people), 2 of them are up and running and of those, one is over 80% open.

Sadly, I have not blown the dust off my boards yet.

Yea Mammoth is open but very limited. Only a couple chairs are running with about 12 inch base.
June Mountain has an opening date of dec 10th if all goes well.
Snow summit and Bear Mnt have no set opening date yet.
Merrrrjig where did you find that Mnt High will open soon?
I hear whistler is open might be worth a flight to check it out only been there in the summer for the bike park.

Rumor has it that Whistler has been getting good early season snow...My recommendation is if you are going to go, go in March during the Telus festival...that place goes nuts!

Personally I would not want to own a ski resort. Having been in involved with the inner workings of ski areas a little... I have learned a saying that proves mostly true:

How do you make a small fortune in the ski resort industry? Start with a big fortune!!

If I owned a resort I wouldn't let anyone else ski/ride there...
Its like when Cartman had his own amusement park.
