I have a pair of mid-line drop gloves that have worked great for a few seasons.

My Dakine Rover gloves seem nice, not cheap, i think they were 65 bucks from BC.

whatever you choose do yourself a huge favor and get some nice leather gloves. mine stay SO warm and they are not bulky. they allow for full movement of your hand and fingers but they also keep your hands warm when it's -8 on the hill.

i picked up a pair of the marmot work gloves yesterday and put them to work shoveling the walkway and cleaning off the cars this afternoon while it was pouring freezing rain. the hands stayed warm and dry so these gloves definitely get my recommendation.
