Gloves?

I've been wearing the same gloves I wear for cold weather riding on my motorcycle for awhile now but I want to get a dedicated snow glove. I'm not a big fan of mittens. I've been looking at Dakine gloves they seem pretty nice and I've read some good things about them. What would you guys reccomend?

I had Dakine's 2 years ago ad they were nice until the seams ripped out. I have Black Diamond now and they are sweet. You can order them factory direct and they almost always have a special on some sort of glove. Definatly worth it.

The two that I've heard are the best:

Marmot Ultimate Ski Glove
Cloudveil somthing or other

YMMV.

I would have to recomend the Marmot. My Marmot mittens are going into their 7th season. They developed a couple small holes last year so I might have to replace them, or just add some duct tape

I have some Swany mittens that have been fantastic. My husband has gone through several pairs of Dakine gloves. He likes them, but tears them up. They're relatively inexpensive though, and he likes the fit/feel, so he keeps buying them. Personally I like the warmest mittens I can find.

Just an FYI - alot of glove manufacturers will simply replace a blown out pair of gloves if you send them to the company with a well composed letter.

I'm on my 3rd pair of Lowe Alpine Dr. Strangegloves. They send me a new pair every 4-5 years.

Yeah - I've sent things back for warranty work/replacement, but I guess it has to surprise me that it wore out for me to send it back. The way I see it, he's buying cheaper gloves in the first place and that gloves are one of those things with a lifespan too. After 70-80 days of use on a cheaper pair, I think you got what you paid for out of them. If I bought some $100 plus retail gloves that were made to be extra durable and they tore up quickly, I'd send them back.

We've sent back cloudveil pants that ripped on a seam and Fischer skis that self destructed on day 3...

I guess bottom line is that if I feel the item met my expectations, the company deserves me actually buying a replacement item to support their continued existence.

That goes hand in hand with expecting everything to last a decade.
