got me some new stuff

EMS had a sale this weekend and everything in the store was on sale.

I bought these gloves. Regular price $69. I have an old pair of Columbia gloves, but I could use a new pair.

I bought this fleece vest. 4x more wind resistance than regular fleece. Regular price $50.

Between the sale and the $50 gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket, I spent $40 out of pocket. :thumb:

New stuff is fun.

Sweet, man! Speaking of sale stuff, I bought new Lange boots at the end of last season for half off. $550 boots for $275.

I hate breaking in new ski boots.

Unfortunately I once treated myself to a bootfitter and since then won't buy boots unless I have them fit. It's like drinking a good beer. After you have it, you can't ever go back to looking for the best deals. A bootfitter is GREAT, but you pay for it...

I finally bought new pants and skis this year. I got a pair of Patagonia White Smoke pants, so far they seem bomber. Also my Salomon Guns f$@kin rock, as they have already seen some deep snow.

Somebody who will spend an hour or two with you to find the right kind of boot and the right size boot to match your needs. The one I saw talked to me about my style and analyzed my feet for 30 minutes before I ever tried a boot on. He noticed things like a need for a wide toe-box yet narrow heal and I had a bump on the outside of my foot that needed to be considered. I tried on a couple different pairs of boots and he ended up recommending a half size difference in the right vs. left boot (like 28 on the left and 28.5 on the right). Then he made custom footbeds, especially important since I have high arches. Once that was done, I was in the boots and he did stance alignment actually grinding the shell so I had good alignment and comfort.

I never wear anything more than a thin sock liner inside my boot and feet are never cold. If you are wearing more than one pair of socks, your boots are too big.

You don't get anything on sale, but it is sooooooooo worth it.
