This is more important than most people think. A better (or an additional) head covering and or base layer (tops more effective than bottoms) will keep your hands warm because your vitals are not getting cold. When your vitals get cold, your body constricts the vessels in your extremeties in order to keep the warm blood closer to your core. The best gloves in the world will not keep your hands warm if your core is cold.

My Burton Gore mitts came in the other day and seem to be pretty good. The fit is awesome and the liners are nice. It has been about 35 here and rainy so I haven't taken them out to the hill yet.

I just got a pair of mitties from Sears, and WOW they are the warmest things I have every worn.

Plus they were only $13 CDN!!
