Need some good gloves or mitts.

My hands have never been warm, and cold fingers for me just takes away from the fun of skiing/snowboarding. WHat sotr of gloves do you guys have that are actually really warm. I'm thinking Burtons Toaster MItts, so I can pop in a hand warmer if need be. What do you think?

I got some burton gore mitts this year, and they work good, they come with a liner glove for extra warmth, but I'v never used them. but with out them they keep my hands really warm. ohhh thoes for warmers? I always thought they were for hitting stuff you didn't want people to find....guess it works for both

I went out today w/ the toaster mitts, and once again, though the weather was mid 20's my hands were freezing and starting to go numb after abotu two runs. I've come to the conclusion that my fingers just suck, they are too skinny and have bad cirrculation. I had to put two hand warmers per mitt to get comfortable.

In Montanta, at Moonlight it was -15 and shady. I was wearing Burton Approach gloves with the liners and my fingers did not get cold. They were even giving away free handwarmers, but I didn't need 'em.

I was thinking about your complaints, and yes, you could be right, but are you sure you are dressed properly? Maybe you need a warmer jacket/pants or hat/helmet?

When your core isn't warm enough (torso and head), your body shuts down extremities like hands and feet to get additional warmth as a defense mechanisim.

I was wearing underarmor, a colombia coat w/ fleece liner, just a standard beanie, and cheap snowpants. My core didn't feel cold at all, and it was still like 25 degrees out, I shouldnt have been cold at all.

and your feet don't get cold (a common skiier complaint)? yeah, your hands probably just suck. maybe you should invest in a handwarmer company, or look into battery heated glove liners.

the thing is when your core gets cold, you will feel it in the extremities first. You might consider a helmet which is a lot warmer than a hat, and maybe a second base layer or insulated pants. at 25 this shouldn't be necessary though. you could also add natural insulation. things like potato chips, ding dongs, big macs, etc. can help here.

I suppose you could take up surfing instead. Maybe go to U of HI instead of U of CO.
