Socks

What does everyone use for good boot socks? I have a pair of carhartt insulated boot socks that go almost to my knees.... they're worked pretty good but there has to be a better option out there.

Burton socks usually work pretty well for me... I think socks are one of the most important aspects to having a good day, I'm super-picky.

I get socks from Sierra Trading Post. Have a bunch of SmartWool ski socks in ultralight, light, and medium cushion. Wear different ones depending on temperature and how much bumpin' I'm gonna be doin'.

I haven't been very picky in the past but I'll definitely try some new socks for this season.... are the smartwool ones very expensive? How thick are they?

Three words: Bridgedale, expedition weight.

Pricey, but well worth it.

i'm guessing your feet never sweat then. mine always overheat so damn much, even on extremely cold days.

I use Bridgedale socks. I think they are just as comfortable and far more durable than patagonia or smartwool. I usually go with thin socks

I think they run about $10/pair. So yeah, they're pretty pricey.

Snowboard boots are pretty warm, making thick socks unnecessary. My skier friends gripe about cold feet quite a bit. They also crank their boots super tight so it probably cuts off their circulation. It seems that thicker socks wouldn't help here.

I'm a bit odd in that respect: I wear regular nike quarter socks pulled up so they barely overlap my long underwear... I should probably get some dedicated skis socks.
