Sunglasses and Goggles

First off, which do you wear...sunglasses or goggles, and why? And secondly, what are some of the specifications I should look for in a really good pair? I know I'd want plenty of UV protection, but is there a minimum number I should look for, and are they other added protections like that I should look for?

Goggles here

I wear glasses so goggles serve a dual purpose for me. They protect my glasses as well as my eyes. My glasses cost several hundred dollars so I really can't afford to have them go flying off or getting damaged. Whether getting goggles or sunglasses, get the best quality that you can afford and make sure they have good full-spectrum protection. Your eyes are too important to leave any room for error.

Goggles are a must for me. I lost too many pairs of expensive glasses on the slopes. Invest in a good pair of goggles that don't fog up and fit your face well. Makes those nasty snow days tolerable.

I wear goggles because I have a tendency to lose or forget things if they're not attached to me lol. Some specifications would of course be that they are comfortable and don't fog up

i pretty much always wear goggles. although sunglasses make way more sense when you're touring/hiking in the backcountry as they don't feel so bulky and hot.

How would I know if they're not going to fog up? Do I need to buy ski-specific goggles/sunglasses or are there some I can buy that just happen to be "fog resistant" or something?

Well you get what you pay for when it comes to goggles. It will tell you if they have fog control and anti-scratch lens. Also something that cuts the glare and enhances depth perception.

I wear goggles because otherwise I struggle with the glare from the snow coming up under the glasses. Plus there is the wind rushing around them when going at speed, and snow perhaps coming with it, or spray.

So goggles provide better protection.

I always look for goggles that are polarized when I'm in the market for a new pair. polarization reduces glare off the snow. Most goggles are tinted (in varying degrees), and of course attach to your head so you don't lose them!
