Off Season And None Ski Use-PA Area

The only resort I know of well enough to comment is Whitetail. A friend and I decided that we would recently take an alternative day at Whitetail and ended up snow tubing for a couple of hours. It was an absolute blast, and I look forward to taking my daughter when she is old enough. It's in a totally separate area from the other slopes.

And in the summer of course it's a golf resort. But what about the others in the region. Do they offer things like tubing and sledding, and what do they do in the summer time?

Do the serious skiiers look down on those who come for tubing?

I can't speak for the "serious skiiers" but I know I think the tubes are pretty fun. Nothing is a better way to take a needed break than tubing. Much easier than skiing or boarding down the mountain.

I've taken my niece who is a pretty big wimp tubing and she loved it. I think safe dedicated hills for tubing are great compared to how dangerous sledding can be elsewhere.

I find it odd paying to go tubing myself. Out here we just go to a sledding hill. Of course I'm all Mr. Dangerous like that going to an uncontrolled sledding area.

Unfortunately I don't know of ANYWHERE to sled around here! I would love to I really would! Part of the problem is that we just don't get enough snow, often enough. And hence Whitetail is nice for that.

That's so sad.

Whitetail is by far one of the best resorts I have ever been so fortunate to visit, so it comes very highly recommended from me. Unfortunately, it also happens to be about the ONLY resort I have been to in that area.

Sorry that I can't be of more help to you, but I know places are out there

There are some places in the city when I resided in MD that all streets are closed off when there are snow days, and that means if no cars are parked you can tube down them. Of course this is all tube at your own risk, I have never went somewhere to tube I just pick a spot without things I can slam into and I'm good.
