Where is Your Favorite Place in New England?

I know there are probably hundreds of mountains and resorts in New England that offer skiing, but there are some that are just a step above. I love finding out about new places to go to that may offer better riding/service than some of the well-known big places. Which one can you not live without?

I like Attitash

It's actually the only place I've skied so far. I have friends who own a cabin nearby so we stay there for an occasional ski weekend. I'm thinking of getting a season pass for next year once they go on sale in a couple of weeks. $600 isn't bad if I can go often enough to make it worthwhile. Since it's only a couple of hours ride, I should be able to make it at least every couple weeks. It would end up a lot cheaper in the long run.

My favorite place in England would have to be the one in Aldershot. It is called Alpine Snowsports, its center has a great instruction program for both children and adults. My children learned how to ski there.

stowe is definitely my favorite place in the northeast. sure it's expensive and filled with yuppies, but if you know where to go it is amazing.

It really sounds like you're talking about Aspen Mountain.

And to be honest, there aren't really many yuppies at Aspen. It's mostly obscenely rich Bogner-wearing tossers.

They looked at me with disdain on the gondola when I pulled out my ham and cheese sandwich to eat for lunch the day I was there.

obscenely rich bogner-wearing tossers are the same thing as yuppies to me, they all are stupid. powder days are always a good time with my skier friends, "why are you riding water skis?"

should be interesting next year, i believe i'm getting a pair of icelantic boards for my tele setup. i wonder what the comments i'll get with those will be. winter is basically done here so i think i'm just going to be renting tele skis through the outing club for the rest of the season.
