Oh come on! You've gotta give me something here, lol. I went to high school in Illinois and we used to travel over to Paoli Peaks in Indiana somewhere. I can't say it was a magnificent place (I think it was setup for "family fun") but hey, they had snow and lifts, so there was something to work with.

You asked for half-assed decent. There are none that meet that requirement. Hell, even Eldora, CO doesn't meet that requirement. And that's the closest CO resort to Nebraska.

Psh! Fine, be that way then. How about...."not decent at all, but there's a bit of snow over the area and if you're not picky at all, then you can pretend to ski"? If I'm going to hit up CO, then I'll actually go to a great resort over there....looking for something a tad bit closer for now, though.

You'll have to ask RenegadeRick - I'm sure he knows a whole bunch of resorts that fit that description.

Yes I do.

There are plenty of resorts in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, etc. and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There are many, many sites with information on resorts. Check out http://www.goski.com for resort listings all around the world, and even the midwest.

Thank you for that Rick! Decent for me is anywhere that has groomed slopes and a half pipe. They may not have the Cascade mountains, but they have better snow and that can go a long way!

You'll be lucky if there IS snow...

Yeah, it's melting fast 'round these parts.

Last night started with thick sun-baked crud that quickly turned to frozen chunky crud after the sun went down. So, no, I wouldn't call it better snow.

For better snow, try Utah.

you're talking about the difference between 500 possible inches per year and 25 possible inches per year... what about your current close prox. to places like BC or baker?

I hope she's worth it...
