Photograph contest?

Ok so, yeah, there's no new logo up on the top of this page and that pretty much doesn't help my cause as far as showing that I really want slopemonkey to be a success. If I had admin status it would be done, but I don't and there's some sort of protocol that goes on at the main office that I have nothing to do with and that's that.

However! I can run a contest and I can pay for it myself if need be so let's talk about the possibilities here.

A photo contest would be skiing/snowboard/snowmobiling/snow-everything related and wouldn't necessarily have to be taken now (since some of us don't have snow yet) but should be fairly recent.

I guess what I'd like to know is what kind of prizes would be best for everyone? A gift card to a snowsport related site? amazon.com? Tshirts? Mugs? I think if our first few contests have a nice amount of entries we can eventually get someone to sponsor some good stuff and that would be great.

So please give me some input on what you think of contests, how long you think you need to enter, what prizes would be good, etc.

Feel free to bitch at me about the logo too.

I'll take a look through my pix and see what I got. Most of the good ones I posted already... are these by definition excluded?

Hi guys, it's me again and I am once again darkening your doorstep with a contest update. CG is going to give up some money for this contest (by way of amazon.com gift certificates - or if there's another place you guys would prefer let me know) and mugs/tshirts with the slopemonkey monkey on it.

I'm thinking for the first contest, let's keep it simple.

How does Best Snow photo sound? It could be you in the snow, someone else in the snow, martians landing in the snow, snow on a mountain, etc etc ... as long as there's snow in that picture you're in.

Sound good?
