Went to Mt Spokane yesterday. I have been training new incoming patrol candidates, teaching them to apply what they learned in class in the ski area environment. But I actually remembered to take the camera with me yesterday. Nothing to report about the skiing. It rained Thursday night with the big storm we had, and then froze solid. Glad my edges were sharp but it still wasn't much fun! Anyways, here's some pics.

*edit* sorry the way the pics posted. Still learning on how to do that. Why I can post a picture of my pink eye but not these when I did it the same way????????????????

I was there yesterday as well. Terrain park was fun, the landings could have used some work as they were big bomb holes by the end of the day. He is right though the snow was like concrete most of the day. Did you work on that kid that bit it on the last jump of the terrain park down around the bend on the way to chair 4?

maybe I will have to put in a day there when I am in Spokane. (23-28) Although I hear it lacks steeps.

It's not bad for being 20 minutes from my house. True not alot of steeps but if you want those there is always Schweitzer or Whitewater in Nelson BC (2 hours away). Mt Spokane is good for thier park (especially late winter), fast drive, cheap tickets.

Nope, not that kid. I was involved with training. So if you saw what looked like a bunch of patrollers in two groups right next to each other that looked like a couple of big yard sales, that was us. But I was in on the one in the Park right at the end of the day. Kid landed hard on his ass and his spine compressed and released like and accordian. The conditions this weekend were definitely NOT snowboarder friendly!

You can say that again! I only fell once (lost an edge) and just kind of did a little slide out. Not that big of a deal. I woke up yesterday and my whole shoulder and chest felt like I got punched in the chest and arm repeatedly. At least we should get some snow this weekend and next week.
