Oh yes I am serious. Everyday no matter what.

Let's say last night we got 12 inches. This morning DH got out early to groom that 12 inches into fresh cordoroy and at 5pm they close the lines for 1 hour to groom again.

Wow, that is the total suck.

As for the locking debate, a buddy of ours had his skis swiped from Whistler last year. We actually think someone took them by accident (they are a fairly common ski).

I never lock my gear up but usually go with the swap one ski with a buddy to split them up. I guess I like to have unprotected sex.

Good luck and hope your season turns around.

i really don't think it's a bad season unless you break something.....

there was a posting last week on TGR of some guy who went straight into a stump with his knee..... actually loosing a piece of knee cap. THAT is a bad season to me.

this is just a bit of a bummer because it makes you annoyed w/ mankind.

with this at least you learned something. don't trust anyone. lock yr stuff if you have to go for a pee. or pee on yr own stuff. or ride ghetto gear like SS and no one wants yr crap gear.

I agree breaking something is a bad season, but you can still have a bad season as well if your shat gets pilfered. The sport is expensive enough as is and an unplanned expense like getting new gear because it was lifted would really chap my a$$.

Call it degrees of bad.

You don't have any backup gear? Come on. I have my crappy pair of mid-fats, a crappy pair of bump skis as backup and a crappy pair of AT skis that I could always break out if things *really* got tight.

i seriously don't consider my winter all that expensive. just bought a new board of ebay. it'll last me a couple of seasons. $300.
season pass $300.

that's really not all that bad. this winter for biking i have purchased: new - full face helmet, wheelset, disc brakes, fork, and some attire. lots and lots of money. and the season hasn't started.

I do have back-up gear, but I prefer my good gear. The back-up will get me through in a pinch, but they are back-ups for a reason.
