Tr: 2/26/07 Finally Winter In Tahoe

It's finally looking like it should here. At least what it should look like in December, but I'm not complaining. Kirkwood is reporting 11 feet since Feb 8th. Not too shabby. And it's STILL snowing and I'm working from home.

Anyways. Yesterday we thought it was going to be a disaster out there. Town was backed up for miles and miles with people trying to get out of town. That left the mountains quiet. We got a late start to the day because of how much it was snowing and how strong the winds were, but we got the most of our afternoon out there.

here is mr.amy starting off the run having fun w/ a stump:

always trying to get a little air for the camera

ali making his way through the light pow pow

Looks awesome. Was much on wind hold out there?

I called up kidwoo on Saturday to see if he wanted to hit Alpine, but he was already pulling into Kirkwood. I guess he has a midweek Alpine pass.

I was up there both Saturday and Sunday, and Saturday was pretty good, but they closed up a lot of the good stuff late in the day. Yesterday was just mad windy and kinda stunk with only 1 lift running.

It seemed like the wind died down a tiny bit today?

still wind hold today... i took some lunch time runs thought that were very very nice.

yesterday was stormy... but the snow was so light that it didn't really bother me too much. i'm used to the wet and heavy storms here. this is so much lighter than it normally is. I have yet to meet up w/ Kidwoo this winter. Maybe him and I will play one of these days at kwood.

Awesome.

The snow was very light, but with only one lift at Alpine it was a little crowded.... Driving back today it was snowing down to about 3500 feet or so.

I have a feeling kidwoo can't be seen with mere mortals. He is probably a professional skier.

i have done some dh runs w/ him on bikes. if his snow skills parallel his bike skills.... we're both in trouble. he's stylee.

stagecoach lodge at the heave wasn't crowded yesterday... california base lodge might of been, but i steer clear of that part of the mtn when it's busy.
