TR: Butler Gulch

So we got an alpine start on this day... met around 9:00 and dropped in a local coffee shop on the way up to get some java and a burrito. Hit the trailhead at about 11.

Skinned up a bit over an hour. Starts in the trees and then breaks out above treeline:

It was windy at the summit of the little knoll we climbed:

We dropped off the knoll for several hundred feet of nice turns - powder, sastrugi, corn... there was a little bit of everything. Traversed over to a ridge and skinned a bit further along to see what we could find.

There were lots of possibilities across the valley:

But what we were interested in was right in front of us. Untracked heaven:

My new skis were excited about the prospect of getting some of the goods:

The splitboarder had to fiddle a bit:

Was the fiddling worth it? Survey says.........

After dropping this beautiful little stash we headed back up on the same line and tracked the $hit out of another gully which was just about the same - beautiful and untracked. Great ski day in the BC!
