Yup. We had been planning on going up this weekend for awhile, but we usually just see what sort of lodging deals fall into our laps when we go up. This was a pretty good score...

is lodging expensive there?

south lake tahoe is riddled w/ inexpensive lodging... which is good. considering i had to live in said inexpensive lodging until we found a place to rent when we moved out here.

I guess it depends on what "inexpensive" is... You can find pretty good deals if you're willing to wait 'til the last minute or if you stay downvalley...

my version of inexpensive is $40. this town can be really cheap for lodging. and i never want anything fancy.... just cleanliness.

There are some motels that you might get in that range in the not-prime season.... but condos pretty much start around $75-$100 for little ones.

it holds it's snow amazingly well there.

and what's nice is that it's a straight hike/skin up from the road. whereas w/ roundtop we had a relatively flat hike in for 2 miles before the climb.
Any chance I could get you to show me around this place when I head out to visit my brother next season?

no problem. as long as the snow is good. i only add tht in because earlier this season the coverage was bad and not worth the hike...

but i imagine since this winter was dry, the next one will HAVE to be killer.
