TR: Loveland 12-15-2006

Wife and I headed up to Loveland. Guy at the ticket window handed us a couple $20 vouchers (we were prepared to pony up the full $40/ticket).... so things were looking up right off the bat.

Coverage was looking good as we headed up the mountain:

We hit up a bunch of goodies in the basin area.... headed over to Chair... 8? Wife didn't take long to get back in the smooth groove:

We skied from about 10am until 3:15pm or so. Later in the day the wife let me loose to head over to the steep goodies off Chair 1:

<please see next post for picture>

It was a bit thin in spots - had to consciously avoid some of the troughs and ski the ridges of the bumps.... but I even found some boot-deep untracked further skier's right from this photo down lower.

All in all a fine first day. Hopefully I'll be able to get up with my liddle boys (5&4) some time soon. Anybody have some liddle kids boots & skis they'd like to sell for cheap?

Thats about the same coverage as west facing ridges at Hood. The East and North ridges have about 7 feet though.

Crowds? We skied right onto the lift after every run.

I usually am too because most times I let someone else use the camera they mess up the pic.

From the looks of your pics, you mess 'em up too.

I forget, this was a weekday. That's the best part of midweek skiing, no crowds. Sadly, they usually make me work during the week.
