Utah Advice?

Wasn't sure where to post this:

I want to get out to Utah this season and just received a SkiUtah brochure.
Any advice or recommendations as there are about 50 spots I wouldn't mind trying!
It'll be me and my my friend snowboarding and possibly her 3 1/2 year old son on skis.
Thanks in advance!

Kat

Suppa cat - Really depends on what you like to ride? Snowbird is super steep with some gnar cliffs all over the place. I mean it's like being in the back country in some spots - a couple 50 and 60 footers with no warning. Downside to Snowbird is if you stay up there it is expensive and you feel like you are trapped kinda(not very many places to do things other then ride and the road gets shut down as avalanches slide across it often - happened to us, they literally locked everyone down in there condo for a day and nobody could leave due to slides). Solitude has great powder and some good steeps without the crowds. Park City is by far the best place for park and jibbing plus the town is cool and there is nice + affordable lodging at the Radison. I haven't been anywhere else out there. If you fly into Salt lake early enough you can get a free lift pass to Park City on the day you arrive, I think thru the chamber of commerce or visitors bureau?? Most resorts are 20-30 minutes or so from salt lake and there are a couple of shuttle services.

What time of year are you going?? Post a report when you get back. I just rode Okemo and Killington this week. Enough snow to make me want more.

Oh snap, just read that your friend will have her 3 1/2 year old son. Park City would be your best bet from my experience out there. Nice gentle wide runs that are not steep at all.
