Introduction thread

Figure I'll start it off. My name's grant- sugarbushrider161 from ridemonkey. I ride a 2005 Burton Baron 172, and my home mountain is Sugarbush, VT. I went almost 40 days last year and have a house about 10-15 minutes from the mountain. Last year I also traveled out west to Utah and hit up The canyons, Park City, Snowbird and Powder Mountain. I love powder, trees and powder. If anyone's farmiliar with sugarbush contact me I can tell you some sick stuff in the back country around there.

My name is Tigg...McGRP01 here and on RM.... I began snowboarding in 1984 on a Burton Performer 150 (V-tail and all...) and I've been hooked since. Learned how to ride at Sunday River and Sugarloaf in Maine. If anyone has ever heard of Mikey LeBlanc w/o is now sponsored by Ride, he was one of my best friends growing up. We learned to ride together and took many roadtrips to snowboard all through high school. Wish I could still ride like him!!! My current set up is a Gnu Dukester 149 w/ generic bindings. I've had the damn thing for about 10 years and am hoping to finally get a new setup this fall if I find the right deal. I ride at Gore in NY primarily as it's only about an hour from my house, but have ridden about everywhere in the East and Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. That's about it I guess.

Hello. I've been skiing for about 7 years. I use Volkl Vectris skis, Marker bindings, and brand spakin' new Lange boots. Wifey and I ski Mt Snow most of the time and are going to get us some season passes next month. I've only been boarding once but I really enjoyed it, so I am hoping to do some more this year.

Oh, what is "Ridemonkey"?

Hi, I'm Joe Pozer. You may remember me from such well known boards as Ridemonkey and MakeFunOfStarWarGeeks.

I've been snowboarding for the past 8 years although I didn't make too many trips to Tahoe last year. I got my humble beginnings on the slopes of Beech Mountain in North Carolina. Let me tell ya, if you can snowboard on the icy slopes of N.C. you can snowboard anywhere.

Im OLY from RM.

I started back in 86 at donner ski ranch when my dad rented an avalanche board, and let me and a friend try it out for a few runs. The next year we rented burton elite 150's and used hiking boots. I'd say 88 was my first real year boarding. THat was the year i had Skis and a board, and when i had bad grades my dad made me ski!!! ahah.

Now i dont get up as much as i used to. Last year was a ZERO day year, but we had a crappy time up in the PNW. I tend to be real picky about my snow days. No longer have desire to ride in the rain or on crappy snow. Hope this winter is better as my pass from last year is still good since Snowcrummy never really opened.
