Rocker/Camber

Anyone ride a board w/ this new tech. Seems to be all the rage.

More importantly my question is regards to who has a board like the Never Summer legacy and uses it as an all mountian board.

Seems like its more geared to park riders and not all mountian riders. I understand it but I want to know if it would benefit an all mountian rider for
per se that "one go to board".

Otherwise I am looking at the NS heritage.

I am a big heavy guy and I have a legacy 159 and I think it is too stiff to be really fun in the park. I kinda wish I had got a longer one to use for more all-mountain purposes.

No I have last year's Legacy with camber, not the new rocker model.
I am 5'10" and weigh 230.

Got a couple of days in on my Heritage rocker.

Um... interesting. I can do style stuff easier (I actually look smoove!), but its not made to go fast.
Definately a park-type board in my book. Although I have not tried it in powder, but I think a piece of plywoood is fun on pow.

I demo'd both the Heritage R and the SL-R and ended up buying an SL-R because it's quite a bit softer. I'm coming off an Arbor Crossbow which is REAL stiff, and I was looking for something supple and turny that wouldn't beat me up in trees and crud.

I only have one day on the new board (aside from the demo day) and so far I like it. The snow has been craptastic so it isn't as good on the super-packed powder as the Arbor was, but I get the feeling it will kill it in the trees and powder.

About the Heritage: when I demo'd that thing at Loveland earlier this season, I did a few runs on my Arbor, swapped bindings, and then did a few runs on the Heritage. After the first half of the first run getting used to the rocker underfoot, I thought the Heritage hauled as much ass as the Arbor, just with a LOT less chatter. Much more damp, but nearly as stiff as the Arbor as well. I was really looking for something softer, hence I went with the SL-R.

NS SL-R 164
Arbor Crossbow 162
6'2" 198#

My comparative stick is the Burton T6.
That thing makes groomers feel like pow, so perhaps my view is distorted.

I was able to fly down the mountain and switch back and forth with next to zero effort, but I was really hesitant to lay into turns as my edge seemed to give out a bit sooner (especially in bumpy spots). I could use another day or two, and some better conditions, to make a more in-depth analysis.

I hear you on the "hesitant" part with the R/C action, I too was pretty conservative with my turns that first run. The rocker feels a bit weird in the apex of the turns, like you said it feels like it wants to give out. But if you dig into it, it'll hold. I found myself shooting out of turns hard enough to come off the snow. The SL-R doesn't seem to have quite as much pop, but still niiiiiccceeee...

Reverse camber boards are fun and easy to ride. They turn very easily and they are good in powder because they float. They are great for riding rails and boxes too as they don't catch edges very easily, which is a good thing whilst jibbing! They don't perform as well as normal camber boards for high speeds and carving etc. Try one!

Hit up Monarch this past weekend, and it had dropped over a foot of super light, low-moisture powder over a couple of days. So I finally got the new R/C board in some SNOW... and I have to say, it's like cheating. Floats really nicely, and is less than HALF the work of the Arbor in really light snow. And due to it being a lot softer, it's a huge difference in trees and bumps. Love this thing!

Quick POV a buddy of mine took of me in some trees at Monarch:
